American Landscaping's topsoil is precision-blended to meet Anchorage municipal specifications. The same standard used in commercial landscaping and city projects. Three components in the right proportions: Alaska peat moss for organic matter and pH balance, loam for nutrients and structure, and sand for drainage so roots can go deep.
We screen it to the grade your project needs. Lawn installation gets a finer screen so there’s nothing in there that'll catch a mower blade. Deeper garden beds and base layers can go coarser. Not sure which you need? One call and we'll sort it out.

How much topsoil do I need?
A rough rule: for a 4-inch depth across 1,000 square feet, you need about 12.5 cubic yards. Not sure? Call us — we've been doing this since 1976 and can help you estimate before you order.
Do you deliver to my neighborhood?
We deliver throughout Anchorage and Eagle River. Same-day delivery is available in some cases depending on schedule.
Can you spread it too?
Yes. We can deliver and spread. One call handles the whole job.
What's the difference between Class B and Lawn Grade topsoil?
Class B is screened through a 1-inch screen — good for base layers and beds where a few small stones won't matter. Lawn Grade is screened finer, through a 1/2-inch screen, for lawns that will be mowed and walked on. We'll help you pick the right one.
